Officers are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man who approached a young girl this morning in Halifax.

At 8:40 a.m., an 11-year-old girl was walking on Castle Hill Drive on her way to École Grosvenor Wentworth Park School when a man in a car pulled up next to her. He rolled down the passenger side window and offered her $100.00 to drive her to school. The girl ran away and immediately reported the incident to the school administration. She was not assaulted or physically injured.

The suspect is described as a white man in his forties with short brown hair. At the time of the incident, he was driving a light-colored car and was smoking a cigarette.

Officers would like to speak to this man about this incident. Citizens are asked to report any similar incidents to police by calling 902-490-5020.
