The applicant is requesting to enter into a Development Agreement for the expansion of the existing rifle range at 1000 Glenmore Road onto PID 00539791 in Middle Musquodoboit. The Musquodoboit Valley Rifle and Revolver Club (MVRRC) would like to expand its rifle range onto the adjacent 54-acre property. The expansion is proposed to include 8 to 15 new archery and firearm ranges built over two phases, with the first phase focused on specialty/law enforcement training.

The Development Plans (provided below) outline the development proposal and include information related to the proposed expansion.

The application will be considered under the Development Agreement process.

Status

Staff concluded the public engagement on this file on August 18, 2025. Thank you to all who provided feedback. Staff are currently in the Development Agreement review process. Once this has been completed, Staff will begin the process of drafting a staff recommendation which will be presented to the Community Council.

The website will continue to be updated as the file progresses and any resubmissions based on staff and public feedback will be provided.

The applicant has submitted plans and studies required by HRM staff to properly evaluate the application. The documents are also available for review at the Planning Applications office in Downtown Halifax.
