Fathom Studio, on behalf of the property owner, has applied to enter into a development agreement to permit a 6-8 storey residential building at 323 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville (PIDs 41486515 and 40872103).

Proposal

The applicant wishes to construct a multi-unit dwelling on the site. The major aspects of the proposal are as follows:
•    A 6-8 storey residential building;
•    101 residential units with a mix of 1- and 2-bedroom units;
•    Approximately 110 vehicle parking spaces (approximately 75 surface parking stalls and 35 underground parking stalls); and
•    Approximately 9,900 square feet of amenity space for the residents of the building.

The Development Plans (provided below) outline the development proposal in detail, and include information related to the design of the proposed building, traffic impacts, parking locations, and driveway access.

Process

The application will be considered under the Development Agreement Process.

Status

This application was reviewed by internal municipal staff from Development Engineering [including Traffic Services], Building Standards, Civic Addressing, and Fire Protection Services as well as externally by Halifax Water and Nova Scotia Power.

Municipal staff are currently drafting the development agreement and a staff report for review by the North West Community Council. Should North West Community Council wish to consider the proposal, a public hearing will be scheduled. The public hearing is another opportunity for you to share your opinion about the application to Council.

Notification of the public hearing will be posted to the HRM webpage and if you received the notice for the public meeting you will receive notice of the public hearing along with updated fact sheet.
