A PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS APPLICATION WILL BE HELD BY HARBOUR EAST – MARINE DRIVE COMMUNITY COUNCIL ON APRIL 4, 2024. PLEASE SEE THE STATUS SECTION BELOW FOR MORE DETAIL.

Request

Stephen Adams Consulting Services Inc., on behalf of the property owner, is requesting to enter into a development agreement to permit a mixed-use multi-unit building on lands located at 541 Pleasant Street, Dartmouth (PID 00227496). 

Proposal

The applicant wishes to construct a multi-unit dwelling at the site. The major aspects of the proposal are as follows:

  • Five (5) storey multi-unit residential building;
  • 71 residential units (mix of bachelor, 1 bedroom, and 2 bedroom units)
  • 3 Townhouse style units facing MacKenzie Street;
  • 3,590 square feet of ground floor commercial space; and
  • Approx. 6 commercial parking spaces and 64 residential parking spaces;

The Development Plans (provided below) outline the development proposal in detail, and include information related to the design and scale of the proposed building, traffic impacts, parking locations, driveway access, and landscaping.

Process

The application will be considered under the development agreement process.

Status

A public hearing will be held by Harbour East – Marine Drive Community Council on April 4, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at HEMDCC Meeting Space, Main Floor Alderney Landing, 60 Alderney Drive, Dartmouth, NS.
 
All oral and written submissions will be considered at that time. Written submissions are welcomed and encouraged in advance of the hearing itself. These submissions are distributed to all Councillors and considered at the time of their decision. Written submissions may be forwarded to the Municipal Clerk by e-mail; by fax, 902-490-4208; or by mail, P.O. Box 1749, Halifax, NS, B3J 3A5. Written submissions must be received by the Municipal Clerk’s Office as early as possible and not later than 3:00 p.m. on April 4, 2024. Please allow sufficient time for delivery.
